1. Summary

Social Suspect is a single-player detective game. You can play it without providing your name, email address, phone number, or precise location, and we never ask for them. There is no account to create and no sign-in of our own.

The game shows advertisements, and it collects information about gameplay, basic device and performance details, and achievements so we can improve it. On phones and tablets this collection only happens if you agree to it when the game first asks, and you can change your mind at any time (see section 8).

Declining does not remove the advertisements. It stops your data being used to choose which ones you see. The game remains fully playable either way.

Showing personalised advertisements counts as “tracking” under Apple’s definition, which requires a separate iOS permission (see section 5).

2. What we collect, and why

Gameplay and progress information — achievements you earn, and the session, performance and crash information the analytics service records automatically, such as how long a session lasted and whether the game stopped unexpectedly.
Why: to find where players get stuck, to fix crashes, and to decide what to build next.

Device and technical information — device model, operating system version, and basic technical details such as screen size, language and region.
Why: to support the devices players actually use and to diagnose problems that only happen on some hardware.

Advertising identifier — on phones and tablets, your device’s advertising identifier, and on Apple devices only if you separately allow tracking when asked.
Why: to let our advertising partners choose which advertisements you see and to measure whether they worked. If you decline, we rely on Apple’s aggregate SKAdNetwork reporting, which does not identify you or your device.

Platform account identifier — on Apple devices, your Game Center player identifier, if you are signed in to Game Center.
Why: to record achievements against your Game Center profile and to store your saved game in your own iCloud. This identifier is provided by Apple, not created by us.

An anonymous player identifier created by the analytics service, so repeat sessions from the same installation can be counted without identifying you personally.

Your saved game — your progress through the case, kept as a file on your own device. It is not sent to us and we cannot read it. If you are signed in to Game Center, a copy is also kept in your own iCloud (see section 7).

3. What we never collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any payment or card details. The game does not use your camera, microphone, or health data, and it does not read your device’s motion sensors. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Social Suspect contains no in-app purchases, so no payment of any kind passes through it.

4. Services that process data for us

Unity Gaming Services AnalyticsUnity TechnologiesSession, performance and achievement analytics
Unity LevelPlayUnity Technologies / ironSourceSelecting, delivering and measuring the advertisements in the game
Unity AdsUnity TechnologiesSupplying advertisements through LevelPlay
Game Center and iCloudAppleAchievements and saved games on Apple devices

These providers handle information under their own privacy policies, and some are located outside your country, so information may be transferred and stored internationally with appropriate safeguards.

LevelPlay may pass limited information to the advertising networks it selects between, so that an advertisement can be chosen and counted. Where you have not given consent, it is told so, and those networks are instructed not to use your data to personalise what you see.

5. Advertising, and Apple’s tracking permission

Social Suspect shows full-screen advertisements between parts of the game. They appear whether or not you agree to the notice described in section 8. What your answer changes is whether your data may be used to decide which advertisement you see.

On iOS and iPadOS, personalising advertisements can use your device’s advertising identifier only if you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, or never answer:

  • the advertising identifier is not used, and
  • we rely on Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which reports advertising results in aggregate and does not identify you or your device.

You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android, the game uses your device’s advertising ID for the same purpose. You can reset it, or opt out of personalised advertising entirely, in Settings → Google → Ads.

6. Children

Social Suspect is not directed at young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Saved games

Your progress is stored as a file on your own device. It is not sent to us at any point, and it is removed when you delete the game.

On Apple devices, if you are signed in to Game Center, a copy of that same progress is also kept in your own iCloud so it carries over between your devices and survives a reinstall. That copy is held in your Apple account, not by us, and we cannot read it. You can remove it through your Apple ID storage settings.

Saved games are not currently backed up on Android. Progress there stays on the one device.

The game asks, on first launch, whether you agree to the collection described in section 2. If you decline, analytics are switched off and advertisements are no longer chosen using your data. The game remains fully playable, and advertisements still appear. If the notice materially changes, we ask again.

You can also:

  • change Apple’s tracking permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking;
  • reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings;
  • ask us to delete the analytics data associated with your installation by contacting us at the address in section 11;
  • manage achievements and saved games through your Apple ID settings;
  • delete the game, which removes the saved game and settings stored on that device.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will act on your request in line with applicable law.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent for analytics and for personalised advertising; performance of a contract for delivering the game and its saved games; and our legitimate interests in keeping the game working, secure, and funded by advertising.

10. How long we keep information

Analytics and advertising information is kept only as long as needed for those purposes, and is subject to the retention periods of the services in section 4. Your saved game is kept on your device, and in your own iCloud if you use Game Center, until you delete it.

11. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when the game changes what it collects, and we will change the “last updated” date above. Significant changes are also reflected in the notice shown inside the game.
